About

Hi there!

I’m Christine.

(it’d be kinda wierd if I wasn’t, considering the name of the site is christineniles, right?)

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I’m a writer, an entrepreneur, a mom, a wife, and a hopeless introvert.

And I love to help people avoid mistakes by sharing my own.

Lesson number 1….

I ran the rat race for too long

I spent over twenty years in business management positions. Yes, I’m that old.

Because I’ve been around a while, I’ve done a lot of random (and some not-so random) stuff.

I have held the Project Management Professional certification for over ten years and I served as a Senior Project Manager in a Fortune 500 organization as well as serving in management, marketing, training, and technical writing positions in small businesses and in the nonprofit sector.

I’ve managed multi-million-dollar global projects and six-figure launches.

I’m trained in six-sigma process improvement principles, and I also have experience factoring in the “softer” elements such as customer happiness.

But as I hit a certain unspeakable milestone age, I started really wondering what it was all for. I was putting in 60+ hour weeks and it seemed like it was all a little pointless.

It was no fun.

And I believe life deserves to be joyful.

So I became a writer.

It wasn’t like I dropped everything one day. But I did choose a single decision every day for a year and a half. And that made all the difference.

I started getting up at 5AM. Every day. Even on weekends.

And I wrote.

On top of that, a little bit each day, I studied and learned and read books and went to conferences and signed up for courses.

I revived my pepto-bismol-pink adoption blog(It’s retired now, but I’m a big believer in not being ashamed of the past. Even when it’s pepto-bismol-pink.)

I moved it to WordPress. I set up Mailchimp.

I learned how to do all the things you’re supposed to do when you want to Be A Real Blogger. (kind of like Pinocchio, right?)

And I found that the technical stuff everyone was complaining about came kind of easy to me.

So I came alongside some pretty successful people, and I offered to help them be even more successful.

I want to do that for you, too.

(You can check out my services for entrepreneurs here or for writers here.)

I’m also a mom

I’m a mom to two crazy-awesome young women.

My husband Mark and I adopted Masha from Ukraine when she was 12. Then we went back a couple years later to adopt her best friend Lena, who was 14 when she joined our family.

(We blogged all the adoption stuff here. In fact, that’s why the pepto-bismol-pink atrocity got started in the first place.)

Neither girl spoke very much English when they came to the US…but they learned fast. In fact, we can’t get them to stop talking now! :)

They’re both in their early 20s now. Masha is working full-time and Lena is a college-level honor student. We’re pretty darn proud of them.

Oh. And I’m also mom to Franklin, the planet’s most adorable little dog (except for your dog, of course). We rescued Franklin from the pound a little while back, and we can’t imagine life without him!

I don’t always work

I also write fiction for fun in the early morning hours before anyone else gets up.

My flash-fiction stories have been featured in three bestselling fiction anthologies, and I’m planning to release the first three books in my Jennifer Hughes detective thriller series this year. My fiction homebase is at nileswriter.com.

Finally, I’m a homebody who loves nothing more than curling up with a book by the fire in winter or on the back porch in the summer…with a finger of great scotch regardless of the season.

I’d love to know you

Shoot me an email at christine @ christineniles.info and share your story. Or hit me up on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram (which is pretty much dominated by Sir Franklinstein).

Whether we ever work together or not, I’d love to get to know you and to encourage you.
